Learning to Live Credit Smart: Credit Report and Score Basics that Will Help You Get the Credit You Need Tuesday, April 30 – Main Office Community Room 6 p.m. Apartment renting, car buying or leasing, purchasing your first home, applying for a credit card...so many things rely on a single number: your credit score. But what exactly is this powerful number and what factors go into determining your credit score?
Join us for this interactive workshop, facilitated by Peggy Ruthven of Experian, to learn the ins and outs of a credit report and what a healthy credit score can do for you.
Youth Checking and Lending Workshop Thursday, May 9 – Troy Office 6 p.m. Does your teen know how to handle his or her finances in the real world? We invite you both to join us for an educational workshop on the proper usage of checking and lending products. (This seminar is geared toward teens aged 16 to 17.)
We will walk you through the process of balancing a checkbook and cover the benefits and pitfalls of ATM and credit card use. After this session, qualified teens will be able to open a checking account and apply for a low-interest, low-limit credit card with parental consent.
